It has been a number of years since I wandered into the Kirkland Arts Center and signed up for my first pottery class. I’ve been enthralled to this date, by the transformation that occurs when turning natural materials from the earth into beautiful, functional and decorative pieces of ceramic art.
In a world that revolves around the principle of automation, every time I work with clay in its most elemental form, I continuously discover the joy that comes from the process of using my hands, my mind, and my spirit and integrating the challenging elements of form, surface, color and design.
My work can be characterized as subtle yet distinctive, combining glaze techniques that mirror organic and natural colors and surfaces.
